USB 3-axis Self Recording Impact Accelerometer
Management canceled all vacations and locked the development team in the lab. The result: A self-recording three axis accelerometer capable of recording +/-250g! The small compact system captures impact events with precise timing and records the data to the internal flash memory. The plain text comma separated data files are easily accessible via the USB mass storage device interface. An internal, hardwired, rechargable Li-Ion battery ensures that data is collected when you need it most!

The X250-1 provides 14-bit resolution over the full-scale of 625 g's, which means that there are 26 counts of resolution per g registered by the sensor. For example, only using +/-20 g's of the X250-1 capability still provides 10 bits of resolution, which is enough to characterize events and determine out-of-family signals. Our projectile impact example shows the X250-1 capturing the >200 g acceleration of an arrow while also recording the vibration of the arrow in flight.
